Filling behind/between two front teeth fell out! Damage done if I don't replace it soon?

I got a cavity a few years ago behind & between by 2 front teeth because I wasn't flossing daily. A few years later I was flossing & it fell out! I don't have dental insurance and haven't been able to replace the filling. It's been out for about 6 months, so I've been living with this hole (?) in my teeth. When I look in the mirror with light, I can see the tooth is much thinner in that area. I'm afraid it will get thinner & thinner to the point where I'll have to get 2 fake front teeth or a bridge or crown or something. Any help?

You are correct. You can't sit on dental problems, they get worse. I know you don't have dental insurance, but realize that a $100 problem today is a $1500 problem in three years. Also, you risk root canals, tooth loss and infection.

A cavity that results from a lost filling is really a devastation. The doctor has opened up the tooth and scooped out decaying material, leaving... basically... a grand canyon in your tooth. The surface of the insides are rough and already so close to the root (when you hit the root, you get a root canal).

Take care of this right away. You'll be kicking yourself.
