i want to put molding around br mirror but orig plastic mounting clips stick out, help w/easy way please.?
mirror is 3' by 4',the clips have a screw in the middle & stick out 1/2"from wall & 1/4"from mirror. the finish is fading on edges,but its great piece of glass so this should work beautifully.(i have 1 brother who doesn't help my mom so i will. that's the reason i'm hoping for an easy out).thanks
that sounds nice,but,i need to cover the edges of mirror because its fading.so i was hoping to find a way w/out kind of carving out the wood where the clips are.but thanks
ggc-i hadn't seen your answer when i started to add more detail.but that might work & the clips cover the mirror almost 1/2".thanks
Attach your molding on the outside then use decorative trim, attached to the wood molding, but slightly covering the mirror to hide the clips. If the clip surround the mirror and are not on top of the glass itself, carefully carve out a space (I've carved wood with a mat knife and a real sharp blade)for the molding and hide it with the accent trim layered on top.
