little car to BIG suv?? help!?
Hello. I'm only 19 so i don't have a ton of driving experience. I just traded in my tiny 98 coupe saturn sc2 for a 2006 ford explorer xlt V6. I love it!! Except a few things. Obviously there is a BIG change in vehicles. it seems like it jerks back a bit while shifting, is it just me since the SUV is much bigger or could this be a problem? Also, i put it in reverse earlier and it really jerked then, but then again I could be doing something wrong. Its only done this like twice. It does have 1247xx on it, which is alot for an 06, i know. but it came from a dealer and is very clean so it seems as if it was taken care of. Another problem i have is i'm use to looking over my shoulder and not really using my mirrors when changing lanes and backing up, well i cant do that in the suv, the headrests are huge! I feel like i cant see out of my mirrors or maybe i just dont know how to use them, since i never really did before. help! thanks!
it's a new car, you'll get used to it. As for the jerking while shifting.. is your foot FIRMLY on the brake when shifting? that could be your problem. Or the u-joint could be worn out on the drive shaft, but that is unlikely with the age and mileage.
